I became a Director at Campbell Tyson in 2007, moving from a city firm in Auckland. I was attracted to Campbell Tyson by their core values — Personability, Inquisitiveness, Enthusiasm, Future Focused and Outcome Orientation. The thing was, you could actually see those values guiding the way they interacted with their clients. That put Campbell Tyson way ahead of what I'd thought was the norm for most accounting firms — they really were passionately engaged in thinking forward and creating value. That's a level of enthusiasm and commitment that I share 100%.
I believe there are five things every business owner and manager should address: growth, profit, cash flow, risk management, and succession. I'm part of a team that helps our clients in each of these key areas, although my personal areas of specialisation are business restructuring and valuation, profitability review and pricing strategies, tax management and mitigation, risk assessment, and systems review.
Outside of work, I eventually defeated the travel bug after five years living and working in London and am now a converted Townie who loves living with my wife Lynda, two children and three retired greyhounds in Puni.
