Tax Audit Insurance for Campbell Tyson clients.
From 1 November 2026, eligible Campbell Tyson clients will be automatically included under our practice-wide FeeCover policy with FM Insure.
FeeCover provides tax audit insurance to help with eligible professional fees that may arise if Inland Revenue reviews, enquires into, investigates or audits your tax affairs.
There is no application required and no separate premium to pay for the standard cover.
What cover is available?
For the policy year 1 November 2026 to 30 September 2027, your client group will have up to $15,000 of cover* for eligible professional fees.
The $15,000 limit is shared across your related entities and all eligible claims during the policy year. It is not a separate $15,000 limit for each entity or Inland Revenue matter.
FeeCover may cover eligible professional fees incurred when we assist with an Inland Revenue query, review, investigation or audit.
Eligible fees may include Campbell Tyson’s professional fees and, where eligible and approved under the policy, fees from other professional advisers involved in responding to the matter.
*If you feel your circumstances may require a higher level of FeeCover, please talk to your Campbell Tyson adviser about the options available.
What types of Inland Revenue activity may be covered?
A tax audit doesn’t necessarily mean receiving a formal audit notice from Inland Revenue.
FeeCover may apply where Inland Revenue makes an enquiry or investigates your tax affairs in relation to a filed return or tax obligation. This may include an Inland Revenue query, review, investigation or audit.
Contact from Inland Revenue may come by phone, email or letter.
If you receive any correspondence or enquiry from Inland Revenue, please contact your Campbell Tyson adviser before responding.
Who is eligible?
FeeCover is available to eligible Campbell Tyson clients and entities included on our Inland Revenue agency list for the associated tax types linked to us.
Cover for individual matters and related professional fees is subject to the policy’s eligibility criteria, terms and conditions.
Generally, Income Tax or Fringe Benefit Tax returns must have been filed by Campbell Tyson, or reviewed by us before being filed, for the related professional fees to be eligible.
However, our fees may be covered if you are linked to us for Income Tax and manage your own GST and PAYE returns. If you are linked to us for Income Tax, then do talk to us if you receive a query from Inland Revenue as you may be eligible for our support to be covered.
What professional fees may be covered?
FeeCover may cover eligible professional fees and costs incurred in connection with an Inland Revenue query, review, investigation or audit.
This can include Campbell Tyson’s professional fees and, where eligible and approved under the policy, fees from other professional advisers involved in responding to the matter.
Eligible fees may be covered until the Inland Revenue matter is completed or your available policy limit is reached.
Cover is subject to the policy’s eligibility criteria, limits, terms and conditions.
What should I do if Inland Revenue contacts me?
If you receive a letter, email, phone call or other correspondence from Inland Revenue, please contact your Campbell Tyson adviser as soon as possible and talk to us before responding.
We will:
review the communication with you and help you understand what is required;
contact FM Insure to confirm whether the matter and related professional fees are covered before undertaking work expected to be claimed under the policy; and
let you know if a claim is declined or if the work is expected to exceed your client group’s remaining cover.
Can I increase my level of cover?
Yes. If you feel the standard level of cover may not be sufficient for your circumstances, please talk to your Campbell Tyson adviser.
We can discuss the additional cover options available to you.
Do I need to do anything?
No application is required for the standard cover.
If Inland Revenue contacts you, the important thing is to talk to your Campbell Tyson adviser before responding so we can review the matter and confirm whether the associated professional fees are eligible under the policy.
