Managing Director
Mathew started his career at Campbell Tyson as a graduate accountant back in 2001. After a stint overseas at one of the Big4 accounting practices, he re-joined the firm in a Manager role in 2008. He has been a key member of the team over this time, progressing to Director in 2013, and stepping into the Managing Director role in 2024.
Mathew is our in-house Tax expert and enjoys working with clients across a wide range of industries, assisting with practical tax planning advice. Also specialising in business valuations, succession planning, and providing advice around buying and selling businesses.
Complementing Mathew’s business expertise and love of the outdoors, he has been a member of The Army Reserve Force in a part-time capacity since 2005. This role involves devoting a minimum of 20 days every year to military service. Including regular military training, completed both in and out of the classroom, primarily focused on leadership training, teamwork and planning.

Joining the CT team in 2012, Kirsty quickly progressed to Director in 2014 and Managing Director in 2016. Her experiences in leading our business and team for eight years have honed her extensive expertise. Kirsty’s passion for business and dedication to client success are the cornerstones of her advisory approach.
Prior to CT, Kirsty’s experience stems from working in both mid-size and Big4 accounting practices plus six years in the commercial environment overseas within the international banking and then global engineering and design industries.
Outside the office, Kirsty is Mum to two energetic boys and understands the constant juggle to balance family life with being a business owner.

Joining the firm in 2007, Lincoln’s passion and drive saw him quickly progress to Director in 2008. Now, with over 25 years as a Chartered Accountant, Lincoln provides advice to a broad range of industries including market gardening, construction, professional services, building management, Charities and Clubs.
Lincoln not only shares his experience with our clients and team, but with our wider community. Outside the office, Lincoln has provided support to numerous local Schools and Clubs in Trustee or Chairperson roles.

Sarah has a genuine passion for all aspects of rural business.
Sarah joined Campbell Tyson as a trainee in 1999 and quickly found her passion in the rural and agricultural business industry. Her drive and enthusiasm for the profession saw her become a qualified Chartered Accountant in 2007 and the firms first female Director in 2011.
Outside of work Sarah is immersed in farm life, owning a local dairy farm with her partner.
Her personal hands-on farming experience has honed her expertise and Sarah plays an active role in the professional development and mentoring of our staff. Her areas of specialisation include – management reporting, profit and cashflow planning, tax planning and management, succession planning, and benchmarking.
Sarah loves getting alongside clients helping them work on their business.

Susan joined Campbell Tyson as a Principal in 2019 and brings a wealth of knowledge to our team from 30+ years of experience in the industry. Susan provides a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership, to deliver tailored advice to her clients.
“I enjoy working with my clients to get to know what makes their business tick, so I can assist with their business requirements and to help take the mystery out of numbers.”
After completing her degree from the University of Waikato, Susan began her career in accounting and hasn’t looked back! Becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1992, she has gained extensive experience in both mid-sized and Big 4 chartered accounting practices, developing specific expertise including Farm Accounting, Retirement Villages, Taxation and Business Advisory.
In 2003, Susan joined Skipper Lay & Associates in Papakura and was appointed Director in 2010 – playing a key role in the firm's merger with Campbell Tyson in 2019. Over this period gaining invaluable experience, further developing her expertise in leadership and business management.
When she’s not in the office, Susan is kept busy on her dry stock farm in the rural community of Te Kauwhata. Her farming background fuels her passion for Agri services and enables her to provide genuine advice to her clients in the rural sector.

With a strong foundation in commercial accounting, Janine brings over two decades of practical experience to her role as Associate. Trusted by clients and colleagues alike, she’s known for delivering efficient and practical advice that makes a real impact.
Janine began her career with Campbell Tyson in 1997 before heading overseas and then spending time in the commercial sector, including eight years as a Financial Controller for a large nationwide retailer. She returned to Campbell Tyson in 2013, drawn to the team culture – “where people are genuinely valued and supported.”
Her broad experience across industries allows her to adapt quickly to different client needs, with a particular passion for advisory work – leading strategy sessions, navigating restructures, and helping clients implement meaningful changes.
“Seeing the impact we have on our clients is what drives me,” she says. “I love coming up with better ways for them to do things and helping implement change in their business, whether it results in increased profits or simply a better experience for their customers.”
Outside of work, Janine is actively involved in her children's school and sporting communities, volunteering her time through coaching, event support, and committee roles. She’s also a keen CrossFitter, which she says is the perfect way to clear the head!

With a career at Campbell Tyson that began in 1976, Jenny brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role as Associate. As Campbell Tyson’s longest-serving team member, she has grown with the firm through decades of change, both in the business and in the accounting profession itself.
Jenny works across a broad range of areas, combining annual compliance with specialist project work, and is particularly well-regarded for her expertise in bloodstock accounting. She thrives on the variety the profession offers - working with a diverse client base and staying on top of ever-evolving legislation and accounting standards.
She’s motivated by delivering excellent outcomes for her clients: “I enjoy helping clients with their accounts and ensuring that we do a great job for them.”
With rural roots, growing up on a small dairy farm and a family history in standardbred racehorses, Jenny has a practical understanding of the equine and farming sectors. This personal experience adds real value to the rural clients she supports.

With a passion for making complex legal matters more understandable, Allison is committed to helping clients feel confident in their decisions and ensuring their affairs are in order.
Allison brings a wealth of knowledge to our team and specialises in trusts, estates, and succession planning. She has a Diploma in Legal Executive Studies (Law), is a full member of STEP (The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and is a Fellow member of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives.
Known for her calm approach, Allison brings both technical expertise and a practical perspective to her role, supporting clients as they navigate legal terminology and make important decisions during often stressful or difficult times.
Outside of work, she serves as a Justice of the Peace (JP), using her legal knowledge to assist members of the community with everyday concerns. With the support of Campbell Tyson's Directors, this service also extends to our clients and professional partners.

Diane began her accounting career with Campbell Tyson in 1988, straight out of school - a path she remains proud of, especially as the firm continues to support school leavers into meaningful careers. After a short time away, she returned in 2022, drawn back by the firm’s strong values, people-focused culture, and its commitment to professional development.
She brings decades of experience and a passion for supporting both clients and team members. Diane is particularly interested in club accounting and values the long-term relationships she builds with clients. Her working style is shaped by a genuine desire to help others, and she places strong emphasis on meeting client needs.
One of the most rewarding parts of her role is mentoring trainee staff and supporting their development: “I really enjoy working with our trainees and seeing them succeed. It’s great to be part of a workplace that genuinely values growth - for both clients and the team.”
Outside of work, Diane is passionate about yoga, staying active, and spending time in nature. She’s currently working her way through one of her bucket list goals: completing all 11 of New Zealand’s Great Walks!

Melissa began her career with Campbell Tyson in 2004 as the Office Junior and has since built an impressive career within the firm. Over the years, she has worked across most roles within the Ops and Administration team, giving her a deep understanding of the business and valuable insight into operational needs - experience that now underpins her work as Operations Manager.
“I have had the privilege of building my career here, learning from a firm with a long, proud history. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of a leadership team that’s always looking ahead and driving positive change. I am proud to be part of a team that puts people first, values growth, and always works together with heart.”
As part of the leadership team, Melissa plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and future-focused change. She is passionate about transforming data into meaningful insights, driving the firm’s annual operational plan, and identifying smarter, more efficient ways of working - particularly through technologies like automation and AI.
Melissa holds a Diploma in Business Administration and has completed the Icehouse Leadership Development Programme, both of which have helped shape her leadership style and strategic approach.
Outside of work, she enjoys family life on a lifestyle block just outside Pukekohe. Her family are active members of the Franklin Dirt Kart Club, where she proudly supports from the sidelines. They also enjoy spending time together at Cooks Beach whenever they get the chance.

With more than 35 years’ experience in accounting and a lifetime spent living rurally in Te Kauwhata, Michael brings practical insight and deep farming knowledge to his role. He is a trusted advisor across the agricultural sector, specialising in dairy and beef farming, with additional experience in restructuring and succession planning.
Michael has always enjoyed working with figures. In 2018, his family-run accounting firm merged with Campbell Tyson, a move driven by mutual values and work ethic. Since then, we’re lucky Michael has chosen to continue on as a member of the Campbell Tyson team, working towards a shared goal - “ensuring we get the best outcome for clients.”
Outside the office, Michael has run a number of small beef farming operations over the years, currently owning Highland cattle, which are always a talking point in Te Kauwhata!
