Each year, Campbell Tyson welcomes a small group of trainees and provides the training, support, and real-world experience needed to build a successful career in accounting and business advisory.
No previous accounting experience is required.

About the Programme.
Our structured on-the-job training programme is designed to give you the foundations for a rewarding professional career.
You will gain hands-on experience while learning from experienced accountants and business advisors, developing practical skills that can't be learned in a classroom alone.
Throughout the programme you will be exposed to:
Accounting and taxation fundamentals
Business advisory services
Financial reporting
Technology and modern accounting systems
Professional development opportunities
What your first year will look like:
Month 1: Learn the fundamentals
Structured induction and training
Introduction to accounting systems and processes
Learning how Campbell Tyson supports clients and businesses
Months 2–12: Building experience
Working alongside experienced accountants
Developing technical accounting skills
Preparing tax returns and financial information
Building confidence with systems, processes, and client work
Receiving ongoing coaching and support from your team
After Programme Graduation
Following successful completion of the programme, you will join one of our accounting teams and continue building your career through our structured development and progression pathways.
Several members of our team started as trainees and have built long-term careers with Campbell Tyson.

After this period, applications will be shortlisted and the interview process will begin. Successful applicants will commence employment in March 2027.
We intentionally keep our trainee intake small and are looking to welcome 2 trainees into our 2027 programme. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
