The Future of Business with Xero + AI
Last month I had the opportunity to attend Xerocon 2025 in Brisbane – Xero’s annual showcase of what’s new and what’s coming. This year the big theme was clear: AI is moving from buzzword to business tool.
Xero’s new AI assistant, JAX, is designed to help businesses and advisors work smarter, not harder. Think of it as having an extra set of hands to speed up everyday tasks – whether that’s answering “what if” financial questions, helping tidy up reconciliations, or turning raw data into insights you can actually use.
For business owners, this means time back in your day, fewer headaches, and more clarity when making decisions. For accountants and bookkeepers, it means less admin and more focus on helping you grow.
We also saw exciting developments with apps that plug into Xero, like Syft, Castaway, Workguru and ChangeGPS. These tools extend what Xero can do – from smarter forecasting, to sharper project management, to better reporting. And with the new Xero Practice Hub and Workpapers, our own team will have stronger systems behind the scenes to support you.
The key takeaway?
AI and smarter software are here to make running a business in New Zealand easier and more efficient. While technology is moving quickly, the focus remains the same: giving you clear numbers, better insights, and practical advice to run your business with confidence.
We’ll keep you updated as these tools roll out – but one thing’s for sure: the future of business is looking sharper, simpler, and smarter.
